75% Extrafine (19.5 micron) Superwash Merino Wool 20% Nylon 5% Silver Lurex (approx. 4/16).

Three plies of merino/nylon are spun with a ply of lurex for a soft, durable yarn with sparkle. We spent a lot of time working with our spinners to get the blend just right for "Stardust". There is enough lurex to add sparkle, without the scratchiness often associated with lurex yarns, and extrafine merino for a soft handle. Add nylon and you have durability too.

The main factor determining the quality of merino wool is its softness which depends upon the fineness of the fibres. We use extrafine merino (19.5 microns) which is some of the finest commercially available for hand dyers.

The silver lurex retains its strength and shine through the dyeing process and is well plied with the wool, making it a pleasure to work with.

This is our unique version of the ever popular sparkle yarns.

Lurex is a metal thread so please do not microwave.
